- MARIGOLD can be used topically to treat eczema, rashes, sores, burns, cracked skin, insect bites, inflammation and other types of skin damage. Resent scientific research has shown that Marigold petals have antibacterial, antiviral, anti-inflammatory, astringent and antiseptic properties. - The principle function of ZINC OXIDE is to prevent skin damage and to speed up pain relief of wounds and swellings. Zinc Oxide performs this action by adhering to the surface of the skin, forming a fine layer or protective film that blocks any external agents that could damage the skin. In this way, both healthy skin and inflamed or damaged skin can rely on a protective shield that prevents skin irritation from the air or friction from rubbing clothes. It therefore reduces itching and burning. It also has a refreshing and drying action (eliminating humidity) which creates an environment that is unfavourable to bacteria and therefore reduces the possibility of infections. Lastly, it is important to note that it is not water soluble and therefore is not absorbed by the skin.
