- HAMAMELIS VIRGINIANA (WITCHES-HAZEL) was used by Red Indians. The fact that it blossomed in winter, differentiated it from other plants. It was used to treat wounds in liquid form, obtained by boiling the twigs in water. Its application miraculously stopped bleeding and healed wounds.
